Sacred Valley Initiative: EMBRACE Peru

Page is in the process of being updated with our new and exciting joint venture with Living Heart Peru.  Stay tuned as we announce our new projects in the Andean Highlands.

Dear Friends of EMBRACE Peru,

I feel that 2012 is moving us in a direction of significant growth opportunities both interpersonally as well as universally.  The time has come for us all to unite around the world.  Big shifts and openings are happening for us all.  It is a very powerful and exciting time.  Put fears aside and embrace the necessity to reach out and support each other.

We are proud of our approval for becoming a nonprofit organization.  Through hard work and dedication, achievement has come into fruition.  Let us extend much gratitude to all of who contributed to make our dream a reality.

Embrace Peru is now a Non-Profit organization!

Sacred Valley Initiative will support and strengthen the grass roots operations of non-governmental organizations (NGO) in the Sacred Valley region of Peru in the Andes Mountains.  This will enable the NGO’s to help the communities flourish while preserving one of the largest indigenous communities and cultures of the world.

In reference to the importance of health for at-risk communities the following points summarize an arm of the mission:

  •   The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “physical, mental and social well- being.”
  •   Achieving and maintaining health is essential for human beings to function as satisfied and productive members of society.
  • Mental health and social well-being aspects of “health” are often forgotten, particularly in developing settings where focus is placed on meeting basic needs.

With the founder living and engaged daily with these communities in Peru, we will have ground level advantage with direct communication, implementation, and execution of the following initiatives:

Technical Assistance: Educational and Wellness services will be implemented in community based programs weekly.  i.e. Kid’s Club for 3-13year old to improve emotional and behavioral imbalances in this society.  Activities will include Yoga and Meditation to support positive encouragement, respect, teamwork, high self-esteem, and creative expression.

Fundraising and Publicity: Build awareness, call to action in the United States.  We will have a fundraising team in the United States to organize and implement events and campaigns to raise money for projects to enrich the lives of the children and communities of the Sacred Valley.  One significant campaign project is the building of an orphanage outside the village of Pisaq.

Cultural and Philanthropic travel: Host travel groups in Peru to take them off the typical tourist route and guide them into the heart of the indigenous communities.  Here they can experience these communities and see first hand the projects that are being implemented for cultural education through ground level fundraising efforts.

Fair Trade:  We will be a point of sale and distributor for Artisan crafts. Proceeds will go back to the communities to improve their quality of life.  This will be done through web based e-commerce, as well as exporting crafts for fundraising purposes.
